WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg volleyball team won its third-straight and sixth overall Iowa Conference regular season championship Tuesday in the 3-0 sweep over Dubuque.

The Knights move to 19-5 on the season and 7-0 in IIAC matches, while the Spartans are now 26-3, 5-3.
Fittingly on Senior Night, Maddie Miller (Johnston) led all hitters with 11 kills. Classmate Aryn Jones (Marion) followed with nine and junior Lizzy Blough (Dike) had eight.
Senior Maria Brown (Peosta) had 22 assists while junior Mallary Erbes (Urbandale) had a double-double with 12 assists and 10 digs.
Freshman Katie Foster (Charles City) had a team-best 20 digs while Blough tallied 12.
The first set was pushed to extra points as each team kept fighting off set point. Wartburg won on an attack error by Dubuque and a kill from freshman Kylie Bildstein (Dyersville).
The Knights rocketed to a 12-2 lead in the second set and won in demanding fashion at 25-5.
In the final set, the Orange and Black jumped to another big lead at 15-6 and the Spartans took their second timeout. Three-straight points for Wartburg made it 18-6 and another four-point run later in the frame made it 23-11.
Miller won the match and the title on her two straight kills.
The Knights conclude their regular-season conference schedule Thursday at Simpson. With the championship, the Orange and Black are the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament. Wartburg has a first-round bye and will play at the U.S. Cellular Center Friday, Nov. 3. Opponent and game time are TBD.
