WAVERLY, Iowa-Wartburg's women's soccer team (10-4-4 overall) prevailed over Coe (12-4-3) in the opening round of the Iowa Conference Tournament, 2-1 on PKs Saturday. 



Coe netted the first penalty kick by Sydney Schroder. Wartburg would make their next two penalty kicks from freshman Anna Rood (Ames) and senior Alyssa Hewitt (Clive), respectively. 

In goal, senior Beth Crow (North Liberty) tallied 10 saves.

Wartburg held the advantages in shots (21-15).

The Knights will travel to Dubuque on Wednesday, Nov. 1 to take on the top seed, Loras, at 5 p.m in the Iowa Conference Tournament quarter finals.
