DECORAH, Iowa—The Wartburg volleyball team swept Luther 25-18, 25-11 and 25-21 Wednesday to move to 14-3 overall and remain as the final undefeated team in IIAC matches at 4-0.
Senior Aryn Jones (Marion) led all hitters with 13 kills and .524 hitting percentage. Junior Mallary Erbes (Urbandale) had a double-double with 13 assists and 12 digs.
Freshman Katie Foster (Charles City) had a team-best 17 digs and junior Lizzy Blough (Dike) followed with 16.
In the first set, the Knights jumped to an 14-7 lead and never looked back. In the second set, the Orange and Black build their lead early to 11-1. The Norse took their first lead of the match at 7-6 in the final set. It was tied for the final time at 12-12 until Wartburg scored two straight points to regain the lead for good.
As a team, the Knights held all team advantage in every category. Defensively, the held the Norse to a .089 hitting percentage.
