North Park led 30-27 at halftime, and 45-40 at the end of the third quarter. The Orange and Black used a 23-12 fourth quarter to earn the win.
Sophomore Emma Gerdes (Cedar Falls) hit a trey with 1:52 remaining to take the four-point lead, but the Vikings answered on their next possession to slice the margin to one with 1:17 to go.
Katie Sommer was fouled and made both of her free throws with 0:52 left to give Wartburg the lead for good at 60-57. After North Park missed a layup, it fouled to try to get the ball back. Senior Abbie Haupert (Collins) made one of her free throws and Gerdes later made both of hers to extend the lead to six.
Gerdes tied her career-best with 15 points. Haupert finished with 13 and senior Miranda Murphy (Alleman) had 12 to round out those in double digits. Senior Morgan Neuendorf (Plainfield) had a team-best eight rebounds while Haupert and Murphy had seven.
Defensively, the Knights won the battle of the boards, 49-33, including on the offensive glass, 17-10.
For their efforts on the weekend, Haupert was named to the All-Tournament team and Murphy was named the MVP.
The Orange and Black continue their road swing as they travel to face Dubuque Wednesday at 6 p.m. to open Iowa Conference play.
