CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa-- The Wartburg volleyball team advanced to the Iowa Conference tournament championship match with its 3-0 sweep (25-23, 25-14, 25-17) over Dubuque Friday. The Knights move to 23-5 on the season and increased their winning streak to nine. The Spartans end the season 28-7.

The Orange and Black will face fourth-seed Buena Vista as it swept No. 2 seed Luther in the other semifinal match of the day.

Senior Aryn Jones (Marion) had a team-best 12 kills and .423 hitting percentage. Classmate Maria Brown (Peosta) had a double-double with 14 assists and 12 digs.

Junior Mallary Erbes (Urbandale) had 16 assists and co-led the team from the service line, along with classmate Lizzy Blough (Dike) with three aces each.

Defensively, Wartburg held Dubuque to a .098 hitting percentage. The Knights held the advantage in all other categories, including service aces (10-1), digs (61-54) and blocks (5-4).

This will be the third-straight appearance in the tournament championship game for the Orange and Black and fifth in six years. This marks the first meeting between Wartburg and BV in the title match since 2003.
