STORM LAKE, Iowa-- The No. 15/18 Wartburg football team (9-0 overall, 7-0 IIAC) won the Iowa Conference Championship with its 56-14 win over Buena Vista Saturday. This marked the 13th conference crown in program history, ninth under head coach Rick Willis, and first since 2014.

Additionally, the program extended its record to 25 consecutive winning seasons.
This was also the second-most points scored on BV in program history, as the record is 58, set in the 58-3 win in Storm Lake on Nov. 12, 2002.
With the title, the Knights also earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs and will learn their opponent during the NCAA selection show on Sunday, Nov. 12.
The Orange and Black will be presented with the trophy following next week's game.
Senior Jordan Johnson (Faribault, Minn.) made a career-high eight PATs and was a perfect 8-8 on those attempts. Sophomore Dylan Binion (Albany, Ill.) led the team on the ground with 159 rushing yards and a career-high three touchdowns. This was his seventh 100-yard rushing game of his young career. He became the 17th player
in program history to achieve the 1,000 season rushing mark and first since Brandon Domeyer in 2014.
Quarterback Matt Sacia (Eldridge) was 13-18 for 252 yards and three TDs. Senior Griffin Brennecke (Marion) led the receivers with 145 yards on four catches and two TDs.
Junior Peyton Imhoff (Dubuque) led the defense with nine total tackles and one interception.
Defensively, Wartburg held BV to 37 total rushing yards.
