-- The Wartburg College men's basketball team (16-9 overall, 8-8 IIAC) will travel to Buena Vista University (14-11, 10-6) on Tuesday for the first round of Iowa Conference tournament play at 8 p.m.

Iowa Conference Tournament
Nebraska Wesleyan grabbed the top seed and Loras received the No. 2 nod. They will both have byes on Tuesday. With win and advance situations, No. 3 Buena Vista hosts the No. 6 Knights and No. 4 Simpson will host No. 5 Central. The winner of the Knights/Beavers will face Loras on Thursday at 7 p.m.
The Series
The Knight hold a 61-51 all-time series record over the Beavers. The teams split during the regular season, with Buena Vista winning 86-79 in Storm Lake and Wartburg winning 88-77 in Waverly this past Saturday. Â
Wartburg
Last season, the Orange and Black finished runner-up in the IIAC tournament and Central took the crown. The Knights enter Tuesday's contest on a two-game winning streak, including a big win over Buena Vista on Saturday. In that game, senior Jordan Cannon (Bolingbrook, Ill.) and junior Nate Woeste (Atkins) each scored 20 points and combined for six three-point shots. Cannon remains third all-time in program history for career scoring with 1,507 points scored. He trails the number two points ranking by just twelve points (1,519 points- set by Jordan Sathoff from 2008-12).
Buena Vista
The 77 points Buena Vista scored on Saturday is just below their 79.0 points per game average. The top performers for the Beavers on Saturday were Thomas Wisecup and Paul Gallagher. Gallagher recorded a double-double, with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Wisecup scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds.
