DECORAH, Iowa-- The Wartburg softball team ended its season 22-16 as it fell 5-1 to No. 3 Luther (38-3) Saturday in the Iowa Conference Tournament semifinal.

Even with the loss, the Knights are an impressive 13-4 in the tournament all-time.

The Norse got on the board with one run in the second and used a four-run fifth inning which included a three-run triple to take the 5-0 lead.

In the sixth, junior Katie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) hit a leadoff single and advanced to second on an error. She moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on sophomore Kailee O'Brien's (Altoona) RBI single to left for the lone run of the game.

O'Brien and junior Erica Countryman (Plainfield, Ill.) and Sommer recorded the three hits for the Orange and Black.
