WAVERLY, Iowa—Wartburg's women's soccer team defeated Macalester College in its home opener, 2-0.
Finding the net for the Knights were seniors Morgan Neuendorf (Plainfield) and Alyssa Christopher (Reinbeck). Both goals were unassisted.
Neuendorf scored her goal on a dribbler to the right side of the net. Christopher's was scored off of a rebound.
Senior Beth Crow (North Liberty) added to her program-high shutout record with 30.
The Orange and Black held the advantages in shots (28-9), shots-on-goal (14-5) and corner kicks (10-0). Macalester held the advantage in saves (12-5).
Wartburg's next game is against Augsburg on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 4 p.m. in Waverly.
