Wartburg Hosts Coe in Conference Opener

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg volleyball team (7-2 overall, 0-0 IIAC) hosts Coe (7-5, 1-0) Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. This will be the conference opener for the Knights and the Kohawks defeated Loras 3-2 last Wednesday in theirs.

The Series
Wartburg leads 36-13-1 and have won the last four-straight meetings.

Senior Aryn Jones (Marion) has a team-best 122 kills, 3.81 kills/set, .371 hitting percentage and eight service aces. Senior Maria Brown (Peosta) leads the setters with 152 assists and junior Mallary Erbes (Urbandale) follows with 140 in the 6-2 system.

Freshman Katie Foster (Charles City) has 157 digs.

Career Leader Lists
Brown has 1,398 set assists, which ranks ninth on the program's all-time career leader list.

Coe
Lindsey Koch has a team-best 152 kills, Aryn Meisinger has 351 set assists, and Madi Miller has 165 digs.

Koch and Sarah Lehman co-lead the team with 16 aces.

National Stat Rankings
Wartburg ranks in the top 100 of five statistical categories, which the NCAA released Monday.
 
The Knights rank 21st in blocks per set (2.19), 58th in match won-lost percentage (.778), 85th in team total blocks (70), 94th in opponent hitting percentage (.122), and 98th in team attacks per set (35.78).
 
Individually, two Knights rank in the top 100 of five statistical categories: Jones ranks 13th in points per set (4.94), 28th in hitting percentage (.371), 41st in kills per set (3.81), and 75th in blocks per set (.94), and Foster ranks 98th in digs per set (4.91).
