PELLA, Iowa-Wartburg's women's soccer team (6-4-1, 0-1-1 IIAC) fell to Central (9-1-0, 2-0-0 IIAC), 3-2 Saturday.
The Knights got on the board late in the first half at 40:14 on an unassisted goal by freshman Molly Close (Polk City). Close's goal marked her first career goal for Wartburg.
Senior Morgan Neuendorf (Plainfield) followed suit late in the second half at 87:36 with Wartburg's second unassisted goal of the game. Neuendorf's seventh goal of the season is a team-best.
In goal, senior Beth Crow (North Liberty) tallied two saves.
Wartburg had the advantages in shots (16-12) and corner kicks (6-2).
The Orange and Black return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 4 as they host Dubuque at 5 p.m.
