ABILINE, Texas-- The Wartburg women's soccer team fell 4-0 to No. 8 Hardin Simmons (3-0-0 overall) Friday. This was the Knights' first loss of the season and are now 2-1-0 on the year.
This game marked the Knights' first time being shutout this season.Â
The Cowgirls took the 2-0 lead into halftime and netted their final two goals in the second half.
Wartburg held the advantage in saves by period (9-3).
This was the highest ranked opponent the Orange and Black had faced since then-No. 4 Washington University in St. Louis in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament in 2015.
The Orange and Black return to action Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. versus University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Abilene, Texas.Â
