DUBUQUE, Iowa-- Four Wartburg men's basketball players finished in double digits Wednesday in the 92-75 loss to conference leader Loras. Junior Jaran Sabus (Urbandale) led the team with 16 points, 14 in the first half alone. Senior Nate Woeste (Atkins) followed at 14, junior Cam Kickbush (Reinbeck) tallied 11 and classmate Josh Gehling (Dyersville) had 10.
Sophomore Ryan Stulken (Walford) was just shy of double figures as he had nine points on three treys.
Woeste had a team-high six rebounds and Kickbush added four assists, just one shy of his career mark.
The Knights are now 12-6 overall and 5-4 in IIAC play, while Loras is 15-4, 8-2 as it won its fourth-straight tonight.
The Duhawks took the 53-37 lead at halftime. The Knights sliced the margin to seven (77-70) with 6:55 left in the second half. Loras answered with a 5-0 run over the next minute and a half to build its lead to double digits once more.
The teams have now split the season series, each being victorious on their home court.
Wartburg returns to action Saturday when it hosts Dubuque at 4 p.m.
