Volleyball Hosts Simpson in Senior Night

The Wartburg volleyball team (13-9 overall, 5-1 American Rivers Conference) hosts Simpson (7-14, 1-4) Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The Knights stand in first place and the Storm are in a three-way tie for seventh in the A-R-C standings.

Seniors Lizzy Blough (Dike) and Mallary Erbes (Urbandale) will be honored before the match in the annual Senior Night.

The Series
Simpson leads the all-time series at 36-33, but the Knights have won the last eight straight, which dates back to the 2010 season.

Wartburg
Blough leads the team with 261 kills and 3.95 kills/set. Freshman Jayme Willemssen (Waverly) follows with 188 kills and sophomore Kylie Bildstein (Dyersville) also has triple digit kills with 179. Bildstein leads the Knights with a team-best .284 hitting percentage.

Erbes paces the team with 606 assists and a team leading 41 service aces.

Katie Foster leads the Knights with 303 digs on the season. Bildstein has a team-best 66 total blocks. 

Career Record Watch
Mallary Erbes ranks sixth in assists (1,886) as she surpassed Maria Brown's 1,838 over the weekend. 

Against the Conference
Wartburg leads the A-R-C as opponents only muster a.109 hitting percentage as a team.

Bildstein is the sixth-leading hitter with 41 kills. Blough leads the league in kills/set (4.00) and Foster in digs/set (6.32).

Simpson
Five players have recorded triple digit kills as Madison Hawtrey leads the way with 169. Hannah Lester follows with 168, Morgan Taylor has 163, Lexie Parks is at 144 and Megan LeMay has 141.

Taylor leads the team from the service line with 29 aces and Hawtrey follows with 25.
