WAVERLY, Iowa – The Wartburg College women's soccer team will travel to Dubuque to face the Loras College Duhawks this Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. in a match that will hold significant implications on seeding in the American Rivers Conference tournament.

The Series
The upcoming matchup will the 37
th meeting all-time between the two programs, dating back to 1995. The last match occurred on Nov. 1, 2017, in a 3-1 Duhawks win at Loras. The series has been very unbalanced, as Loras owns a 22-5-9 record over the Knights. The last Orange and Black victory over the Duhawks came on Oct. 10, 2015, in a 3-1 final at home.
Wartburg
The Knights (10-4-1 overall, 4-1-1 A-R-C) are currently placed in second overall in the American Rivers Conference standings, trailing none other than Loras College (12-2, 5-0). The Knights are looking to add onto their current three-game win streak after defeating Luther College 1-0 over the weekend.
The Orange and Black are led in scoring by senior forward
Nicole Adair (Reinbeck), who leads the team and is sixth overall in the conference with eight goals. Freshmen forward
Joy Smith (Polk City) trails Adair with six scored goals of her own, followed by senior forward
Alyssa Drewelow (Cedar Rapids) with five. As a team, the Knights have scored 36 goals, good for third overall and trailing the first-place Duhawks by six.
Freshmen goalkeeper
Marissa Lopez (Ankeny) leads the Knights goalies in minutes (943:26), saves (52), save percentage (.881), shutouts (3) and boasts a record of 8-2-1. Lopez's strong play this season as helped the Knights defense only allow 14 goals this year to their 16 opponents, which marks the lowest total in the conference.

Loras
The Duhawks have won 11-stright games coming into Wednesday's contest. Over their 11 game stretch, the Duhawks have outscored their opponents 40-8. Loras is lead in scoring from senior forward Gretchen Schutz with nine, good for third overall in the conference. Trailing Schutz are forwards Brynn Jacobi and Ryleigh O'Brien, with seven and six goals, respectively. In addition to leading the team in goals, Schutz leads the team and league in assists with seven total. Junior goalkeeper Kaylee Coble is the Duhawks primary goalie, compiling 32 saves in 1,235 minutes of action. On the year, Coble boasts a 12-2 overall record, including a perfect 5-0 in conference play.
Loras is coached by Matt Pucci, who is in his third season as the head coach of Duhawk women's soccer. Pucci has led the Duhawks to the A-R-C Championships in both of his seasons at the helm. Based on his 2017 success, he was named the Co-Conference Coach of the Year.
