Women's Soccer to Face Buena Vista on Tuesday

STORM LAKE, Iowa – The Wartburg College Knights women's soccer team will be in action Tuesday night as they make the trek to Buena Vista University to take on the Beavers at 5 p.m.

The Series
The Knights have faced the Beavers 21 times throughout the history of the program, dominating the series 20-1, including a current 19-game win streak dating back to Sept. 29, 1998. The Knights have shutout the Beavers in their last five contests, in addition to only allowing three goals all-time versus Buena Vista.
 
Wartburg
The Knights (8-4-1 overall, 2-1-1 ARC) are coming off of a 1-0 victory over the Prairie Wolves of Nebraska Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon. The Knights are led in scoring by senior forward Nicole Adair (Reinbeck) with six goals, tied for fifth overall in the American Rivers Conference. In total, the Knights have scored 28 goals, which stands at third overall in the conference. Adair's 18 points are tied for third overall in the conference and have helped lead the Knights to their combined 28 total points (3rd in the ARC). Freshmen goalie Marissa Lopez has a combined record of 6-2-1 on the year, all while compiling 52 saves in 800 minutes of action. The Knights have outscored their opponents by double, as they have recorded 28 goals to their opponent's 14.

Buena Vista
The Beavers (1-9, 0-3) have lost their past seven matches by a combined score of 27-1. Buna Vista has struggled to find the backend of the net all season long, as Beaver players have only scored twice this year and are led by Holly Coogler and Valeria Cota with one goal each. Beaver goalies have combined to save 32 shots, good for 68.2%, but have allowed 35 goals, which stands as last in the conference. The Beavers are coached by Sheena Van Roekel, who is in her fifth season with the team.

Through games played before Oct. 8, Marissa Lopez's save percentage (88.1%) ranks 33rd overall in the NCAA, while Nicole Adair's five assists on the year is tied for 64th overall.
