ARDEN HILLS, Minn.-- The Wartburg football team (8-3 overall) fell 41-14 to No. 11/15 Bethel (10-1) Saturday in the First Round of the NCAA Playoffs.

The Royals took the 7-0 lead late in the first quarter and extended their margin early in the second quarter at 13-0.

The Knights got on the scoreboard in the third quarter on a shovel pass from senior Matt Sacia (Eldridge) to junior Lee Bonifus (Asbury) with 4:12 remaining to culminate a 19-play, 71-yard drive that took 8:09.

The Orange and Black's final score came early in the fourth quarter as junior Mason Carter (North Liberty) caught it for the score from five-yards out.

Sacia finished with 230 yards with two TDs. He has finished in triple digit yards in 31 straight games and 33 of his last 34, which dates back to the 2016 season.

Carter finished with 37 yards on the ground and junior Kolin Schulte (Anamosa) led the receivers with five catches and 91 yards.

Senior Marcus Johnson (Huxley) had a career-high 16 tackles
