WAVERLY, Iowa-- Four players for the No. 18/19 Wartburg women's basketball team (4-1 overall, 1-0 American Rivers) finished in double digits Wednesday in the 83-69 win over Simpson (3-1, 0-1). This marked the eighth-straight win over the Storm in the series.

Junior Amanda Brainerd (DeWitt) led all scorers with a career-high 17 points. Senior Adrienne Boettger (Cedar Falls) and junior Katie Lindeman (Grundy Center) followed with 14 each and freshman Hannah Anderson (Forest City) rounded out the leaders with 13.
Lindeman's and Anderson's points also marked career-highs.
Junior Emma Gerdes (Cedar Falls) pulled in a career-best 15 rebounds in the win.
The score remained close in the first quarter as the Knights led by a narrow margin, 21-18. The lead would change hands four times in the second quarter until a trey from sophomore Ally Conrad (Cedar Falls) with 3:38 to go, gave the Orange and Black the lead for the duration of the game.
In the third quarter, Wartburg began to build its margin to double digits, and led by as many as 21 early in the fourth quarter.
The Knights owned all team categories, including the rebound battle with 17 on the offensive glass.
The Orange and Black conclude their three-game homestand Saturday when they host Coe at 2 p.m.
