Knights Travel to Face Dutch in Regular Season Finale

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg men's basketball team (15-9 overall, 8-7 IIAC) travels to face Central (10-14, 7-8) Saturday at 4 p.m. in the regular season finale. The Knights are tied for fourth and the Dutch are sixth on the conference standings. The Orange and Black have qualified for the conference tournament, which begins next week. Seeds are to be determined after Saturday's games.

The Series
Wartburg owns the all-time lead at 84-52, which includes the first meeting of the season, 80-65 on Jan 3.

Three Knights average in double digits as junior Jaran Sabus (Urbandale) leads the team at 15.4 PPG. Seniors Sawyer Herman (Monticello) and junior Cam Kickbush (Reinbeck) follow at 12.5 and 10.9, respectively. Senior Nate Woeste (Atkins) rounds out the leading scorers with 10.2 PPG.

Sabus also has a team-high 5.8 rebounds/game. He is the league's eighth-leading scorer (16.5 PPG).

Woeste is now tied for 21st with his 1,152 points, eighth with 124 three-point field goals, tied for sixth with 111 steals, and fourth with 352 free throws.

Kickbush is sixth in three-point field goals (154) and Sabus is tied for sixth in free throws (302).

Kickbush is eighth with his 60 three-point field goals.

Central
Four players average in double figures as Kyle Smith leads the team at 17.1. Malik Wildermuth follows at 14.8, Jamel McKnight at 11.8, and Seth Wood at 10.5. Caden Mauck and Mason Walter co-lead the team with 4.8 rebounds/game.
