Knights Travel to Face Norse

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg men's basketball team (13-8 overall, 6-6 IIAC) travels to face Luther (5-16, 0-12) Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Knights are tied for fifth on the conference standings, while the Norse are ninth.

The Series
Wartburg holds the all-time series lead at 91-42, which includes the first meeting of the season, 73-51, on Jan. 10.

Wartburg
Three Knights average in double digits as junior Jaran Sabus (Urbandale) leads the team at 15.3 PPG. Seniors Sawyer Herman (Monticello) and Nate Woeste (Atkins) follow at 12.7 and 11.1, respectively. Junior Cam Kickbush (Reinbeck) rounds out the leading scorers with 10.1 PPG.

Sabus also has a team-high 5.8 rebounds/game.

Career Leader List Watch
Woeste is now 23rd with his 1,140 points, eighth with 122 three-point field goals, tied for sixth with 111 steals, and fourth with 348 free throws.

Luther
Jared Nicolaisen leads the team with 16.9 PPG and 4.2 rebounds/game. James Kappus joins him in double figures with 10.6 PPG.

National Stat Rankings
Wartburg ranks in the top 100 of four statistical categories, which the NCAA released Monday.
 
The Knights rank 38th in personal fouls per game (15.5), 41st in fewest fouls (326), 89th in free throws made (323), and 94th in free throw attempts (460).
 
Individually, two Knights rank in the top 100 of two statistical categories: Woeste ranks 69th in free-throw percentage (84.8), and Sabus ranks 100th in field-goal percentage (54.5).
