Softball Travels to Face Coe, Host Dubuque

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg softball team (12-10 overall, 2-4 IIAC) travels to face Coe (11-9, 1-1) Wednesday at 2 p.m. and will host Dubuque (4-18, 0-2) Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Series
Coe leads the series at 43-37. The teams split last year's twinbill in Waverly. The Knights own the series at 56-17 over the Spartans. Wartburg has won the last four-straight.

Wartburg
Senior Mara Forsyth (Charles City) leads the team with her .422 average, five doubles, five home runs, and 18 RBIs. Senior Erica Countryman (Plainfield, Ill.), juniors Kailee O'Brien (Altoona) and Liz Roby-Miklus (Ankeny) and freshman Camille Colen (West Sacremento, Calif.) are all above .300 at .357, .347, .324, and .324, respectively.

Roby-Miklus has a team-high 15 stolen bases.

Freshman Maddie Rog (Norridge, Ill.) leads the starting pitchers with a 3-3 record, 22 Ks in 55.0 innings pitched.

Career Record Watch
Forsyth has now tied the career record with 29 home runs and third in RBIs (120).

Roby-Miklus is second in stolen bases (57).

Coe
Allie O'Brien leads the team with her .516 average. Megan Weber and Marisa Repp join her above .400 at .439 and .429, respectively. The Kohawks host Nebraska Wesleyan Tuesday before the Knights on Wednesday.

Dubuque
Taylor Allard is the team's leading hitter with a .443 average. She adds a team-high two home runs and 16 RBIs.

National Stat Rankings
Wartburg ranks in the top 100 of two statistical categories, which the NCAA released Monday.
 
The Knights rank 32nd in stolen bases per game (2.14) and 100th in home runs per game (.45).
 
Individually, four Knights rank in the top 100 of six statistical categories: Forsyth ranks 54th in home runs (5) and 75th in home runs per game (.23),  Roby-Miklus ranks 47th in triples (3) and 62nd in stolen bases (.64), and freshman Lauren Reicks (Cresco) ranks 14th in saves (2).
