Softball Season Recap

WAVERLY, Iowa – The Wartburg softball team finished with an overall record of 17-17 and went 5-11 in Iowa Conference contests under third year head coach Jamie Mueller.

The team tied the school record for most saves in a season (6).

Senior Mara Foryth led the team in batting average (.412), homeruns (9), RBIs (31) and slugging percentage (.773). She finished her career as the all-time leader in homeruns (33) and slugging percentage (.839), and also finished second in average (.426) and third in RBIs (134). 

Juniors Kailee O'Brien (Altoona) and Liz Roby-Miklus (Ankeny) finished second (.358) and third (.321) in batting average, respectively. Senior Erica Countryman (Plainfield, Ill.) was fourth (.309).

Roby-Miklus also led the team in steals (21) and is currently second (63) on the all-time career list.

In the circle, freshmen Lauren Reicks (Cresco) was the team leader in ERA (3.48), wins (6) and saves (5).

Classmate Camille Colen led in strikeouts (24) and innings pitched (79.0).
