WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg volleyball team (4-4 overall) travels to compete in UW-LaCrosse's Quadrangular Saturday. The Knights will face the host-Eagles (6-2) at 11 a.m. and UW-Whitewater (7-2) at 1 p.m.
The Series
UWL owns the series lead at 12-10-1, which includes a five-set win last season. The Warhawks lead 11-2, but the programs have not met since 2015.
Wartburg
Freshman Jayme Willemssen (Waverly) leads the Knights with 80 kills and senior Lizzy Blough (Dike) follows with 71 kills and 4.18 kills/set. Sophomore Kylie Bildstein (Dyersville) adds a team-best .297 hitting percentage. Senior Mallary Erbes (Urbandale) has 238 assists and co-leads the team with 12 service aces. She currently ranks 10th on the career leader list in assists (1,432).
Sophomore Katie Foster (Charles City) leads the defense with 142 digs and co-leads the team with 12 aces.
UW-LaCrosse
Marisa Johnson leads the team with 84 kills and Emma Lawrence follows with 78. Abbey Fox has 275 assists running the offense and Johnson has a team-best 19 service aces.
UW-Whitewater
Erin McNeil is the team's leading hitter with 90 kills and Ashton Doll follows at 72. Emma Aske has a team-best 11 service aces.
