Blough, Erbes Have Career Nights in Loss at Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa-- Seniors Lizzy Blough (Dike) and Mallary Erbes (Urbandale) set career marks in Wartburg's 3-1 loss to Dubuque Wednesday night. Blough tallied 20 kills which surpassed her previous best of 19 set against Bethel last season. Erbes had 44 assists which shattered her previous high of 39 set against UW-LaCrosse earlier this season.

The Knights won the first set 25-23, before the Spartans claimed the next three, 25-22, 25-20 and 25-10. The Orange and Black move to 5-6 overall and 1-1 in conference matches. UD is now 8-4, 2-0 and snapped a 14-match losing skid in the series.

Sophomore Katie Foster (Charles City) led Wartburg with 30 digs, just three shy of her career mark. Four players joined her in double digits as Blough had 18, Erbes had 16, and sophomore Dani Johnson (Parkersburg) and junior Hanna Halverson (Gilbertville) each had 10.

The Knights conclude their road trip this weekend as they play in Cornell's Invite.
