LINCOLN, Neb.-- The Wartburg volleyball team (8-8 overall, 2-1 American Rivers Conference) swept Nebraska Wesleyan (5-9, 0-2) 25-18, 26-24, 25-18 Saturday.
Senior Lizzy Blough (Dike) had a team-high 15 kills and had a double-double with as many digs. Classmate Mallary Erbes (Urbandale) joined her with a double-double of 37 assists and 14 digs.
Freshman Claire Marsh (Waverly) had a career-high 15 digs and sophomore Katie Foster (Charles City) had 25 digs and three service aces.
In the first set, the Knights used a six-point run to take the 13-10 lead, which they never relinquished. The second frame was tied late at 24 all until Wartburg scored on a home service error and Blough kill. In the final set, the Knights jumped to a 11-7 lead and never looked back.
The Orange and Black return to the court Wednesday when they host Cornell at 7:30 p.m.
