PELLA, Iowa - The Wartburg women's soccer team had a road victory in Pella with a 4-0 victory over Central.
Starting off the game,
Joy Smith tallied her eight goal of the season right before the 5-minute mark and gave the Knights an early 1-0 lead.Â
Several minutes later, Smith returned with another goal at the 13-minute mark, scoring her ninth goal of the season and ending the half with a two-point advantage over Central.
Kate Luers quickly responded with her 12th goal of the season two minutes into the second half and advancing the Orange and Black to a 3-0 lead.Â
Ending the game,
Molly Close scored her first goal of the season off a corner kick by
Sarah Campbell, giving Wartburg a 4-0 victory.
The Knights outshot the Dutch 14-4 and also had an 8-2 corner kick advantage.
Next up, Wartburg will host Coe College at home on Wednesday, Oct. 23.Â
