INDIANOLA, Iowa - Wartburg volleyball earned a second consecutive American Rivers Conference sweep with a road win at Simpson College Tuesday evening, remaining undefeated at 4-0 during conference play.
The win also stood as No. 500 for head coach
Jennifer Walker, in her 22nd season at Wartburg. She is the program's all-time winningest head coach.
The Knights made quick work of the Storm, winning 25-19, 25-9, and 25-18. Wartburg hit .258 compared while forcing 24 Simpson errors, limiting the home team to a -.026 attacking percentage.
After taking a 1-0 lead, Wartburg dominated in the middle frame, hitting .435 while jumping out to an 11-2 lead and riding its momentum throughout the match.
Zaiah Quirk led the Knights with eight kills, followed by seven from
Jayme Willemssen and six from
Natalie Clayberg.
Claire Marsh and
Sydney Rottinghaus recorded double-doubles in assists and digs.
