Wartburg serves as regional host for NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship

WAVERLY – Wartburg College was selected as one of 16 regional hosts for the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship on Nov. 16-17. 

The Knights will host No. 8 Pomona-Pitzer, St. Scholastica and Concordia Wisconsin. The winner of Pomona-Pitzer/St. Scholastica will face the winner of Wartburg/Concordia Wisconsin during Sunday's second-round matchup. 
 
Saturday, Nov. 16 – 2 pm – Wartburg Soccer Field
No. 8 Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens (17-1-1) vs. College of St. Scholastica Saints (14-7-0)
 
Saturday, Nov. 16 – 4:30 pm – Wartburg Soccer Field

  • Freshman Selena Esten has scored 21 goals and tallied 15 assists
  • Junior goalkeeper Kaeley Sterkel has made 95 saves in goal

  • The Knights have tallied 49 goals this season
  • The Orange and Black have an average of 16.2 shots per game
  • Sophomore Kate Luers has scored 13 goals and made five assists
  • Sophomore Joy Smith has tallied 10 goals with six assists
  • Sophomore Sarah Campbell has contributed 10 assists and two goals
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Marissa Lopez has earned 47 saves in goal
