Men's Basketball hosts No. 6 Nebraska Wesleyan Saturday

WAVERLY, Iowa - The Wartburg Men's Basketball team will host No.6-ranked Nebraska Wesleyan at home on Saturday afternoon.

Matchup Notes
  • The Knights fell twice to the then-ranked No. 1-ranked Prairies Wolves last season
  • Max Smith Drahos notched 17 points for the Orange and Black and contributed five assists and three steals
  • Wartburg had a 10 point lead at the half, but Nebraska Wesleyan took the victory in the final seconds of the game

Last Time Out

Wartburg faced Buena Vista on Saturday, Dec. 7 where the Knights suffered an 89-75 loss. After a back-and-forth battle in the first half, a jump shot by Buena Vista in the final 10 seconds gave the Beavers a nine point lead over Wartburg. Coming into the second half, the teams battled again until the Beavers took a 20 point lead with 2:04 left in the game. Drahos Smith led the Orange and Black with 21 points, followed by senior Tyler Zumbach who notched 14 points. The Knights were 27-of-60 in field goal shooting an was 18-24 at the free throw line.
