Wartburg Travels to Face No. 17 Luther

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg softball team (20-8, 5-3 A-R-C) travels to face No. 17 Luther (24-3, 6-0) Saturday at 1 p.m. The Norse are first in the conference standings and the Knights are fifth.

The Series
Luther leads the all-time series at 43-36 . The Norse have won six of the last seven. The Knights won by run-rule (12-4) in Waverly on April 19, 2016.

Wartburg
Senior Liz Roby-Miklus (Ankeny) is back to leading the team with her .461 batting average. She also has a team-best 44 stolen bases, and has now reached base in all 28 games this season, and 32 consecutive games, dating back to 2018

Senior Kailee O'Brien (Altoona) follows at .449. Freshman Sydney Illg (Grimes) has a team-best 32 RBIs. Sophomore Maddie Rog (Norridge, Ill.) leads the starting pitchers with 3.71 ERA and has a team-best 43 strikeouts.

Career Record Watch
Roby-Miklus continues to extend her lead as the program leader in stolen bases and has 107 to date. She also ranks tenth in hits (141). O'Brien ranks third in stolen bases with 55 and is fifth in hits with 168.

Reicks is the all-time leader with 10 saves.

Single Season Record Watch
Reicks' five saves ties her own mark at first on the single season leader list. Roby-Miklus set the record in stolen bases (44), while Illg is fifth (21) and O'Brien is sixth (19).

Luther
The Norse enter the weekend on a 14-game winning streak.

Abby Gehringer leads the team at .481 and Blake Banowetz follows at .442. Samantha Bratland leads the starting pitching staff with her 0.54 ERA and is 14-3 in the circle with 82 strikeouts in 90.1 innings pitched.
