Softball Hosts Loras, Travels to St. Kate's

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg softball team (24-10 overall, 9-5 A-R-C) hosts Loras (10-25-1, 1-13) Sunday at 1 p.m. and travels to face St. Kate's (26-10) Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. The Knights have qualified for the conference tournament next weekend, and are currently fourth in the conference standings, while the Duhawks are ninth.

The Series
Wartburg leads the all-time series at 45-24 over Loras. The teams have split the doubleheaders the last two seasons. The Wildcats own the series lead at 2-0 with the only previous meetings in 2017.

Wartburg
Senior Kailee O'Brien (Altoona) leads the team with her .424 average. Classmate Liz Roby-Miklus (Ankeny) follows at .418 and freshman Sydney Illg (Grimes) rounds out the leading hitters at .413.

Roby-Miklus has a team-best 47 stolen bases and Illg has a team-high 38 RBIs. Freshman Olivia Brecht (Center Point) leads the team with 12 doubles.

Sophomore Maddie Rog (Norridge, Ill.) leads the starting pitchers with 3.38 ERA and has a team-best 51 strikeouts.

Career Record Watch
Roby-Miklus continues to extend her lead as the program leader in stolen bases and has 111 to date. She also ranks fifth in runs (112), and ninth in hits (146). O'Brien ranks third in stolen bases with 56, and is fourth in hits with 174.

Reicks is the all-time leader with 10 saves.

Single Season Record Watch
Reicks' five saves ties her own mark at first on the single season leader list. Roby-Miklus set the record in stolen bases (47), while Illg is fifth (24) and O'Brien is sixth (20).

Brecht is tied for seventh in doubles (12) and Illg is tied for 10th in RBIs (38).

Loras
Ashley Lentine leads her team with her .376 average. Three teammates join her above .300 as Lauren Fritz is at .337, Noely Baumann averages .333 and Shannon Coyle completes the group at .317.

KyLeigh Becker leads the pitching staff with her 2.39 ERA and has 53 Ks in 93.2 innings pitched.

St. Kate's
The Wildcats travels to face No. 2 St. Thomas Saturday.

Against the Conference
The Knights lead the A-R-C in batting average (.345), hits (136) triples (3), stolen bases (46), and fielding percentage (.972).

Illg leads the league in batting average (.522) and RBIs (18) while Roby-Miklus leads with 13 stolen bases.

Illg leads the conference in batting average (.531), runs (14), home runs (4), and RBIs (15). Rog has the third-best ERA (1.37).
