CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The No. 1 seed Wartburg women's tennis team (18-5 overall) fell 5-3 in a hard-fought match to the No. 2 seed Luther (14-9) in the American Rivers Conference AQ Tournament Championship Sunday. The Knights finish the season with a record 18 wins, breaking the previous record of 17 set during the 2009-10 season.

Wartburg fell to a 2-1 deficit after playing through doubles. The Norse added two points onto their lead with wins at the No. 2 and No. 1 singles to extend the margin to 4-1. The Orange and Black clawed their way back into the match, as freshman
Madison Overmann (Waverly) won in the No. 4 singles spot after a three-set duel to trim the deficit to 4-2.
Junior
Lauren O'Brian (Ely) brought the Knights within one after winning the No. 5 singles match by scores of 6-3 and 6-2. The comeback fell short as the Norse defeated sophomore
Sydney Rottinghaus (Mason City) in the No. 3 spot after a three-set series.
