Coe got on the board first with a two-run first inning that was capped off with a Kohawk scoring on a wild pitch. Wartburg trimmed the lead down to 2-1 with a one-run first, highlighted by Jeffery's RBI single that scored McNair.
The 2-1 Kohawk lead stood until fourth inning, where Coe would tack on their third run of the night off of a RBI single to left to push the lead to 3-1. Scoreless fifth and sixth innings would go by before the Kohawks plated their final run of the night as Coe's Isaac Evans singled to center field to extend the lead to 4-1. Wartburg failed to generate any scoring offense the rest of the way and dropped their fifth-straight American Rivers Conference game with the loss.
The Knights and Kohawks will return to the diamond tomorrow to play in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
