Jelinek Scores Game-Winning Goal in OT, Becomes Career Leader in Goals

BELOIT, Wis.-- Senior Ashlyn Jelinek (Stillwater, Minn.) scored the game-winning goal in Wartburg's 14-13 overtime win against Beloit Sunday. Jelinek scored four goals to become the program leader in this category. She became the all-time record holder with her first goal of the day at 26:43 on a pass from junior Alex Pollock (Chaska, Minn.). Jelinek surpassed the record of 85 set by Allie Stahmer from 2015-18.

With the win, the Knights move to 3-2 all-time in overtime contests.

The Buccaneers took the two-goal lead (8-6) into halftime, and the Orange and Black compiled a strong second-half effort, and eventually tied the game at 13 all with 4:18 remaining.

Neither team had a shot on goal for the duration, which sent it into overtime.

After sophomore Bri Greiskalns (Oakdale, Minn.) caused a Beloit turnover with 3:19 left in OT, Jelinek found the back of the net just 15 seconds later.

Greiskalns had a team-high six goals and added two assists.
