Wartburg to Host Central

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg softball team (19-7, 4-2 A-R-C) hosts Central (14-4, 4-0)  Tuesday at 4 p.m. The Dutch are tied for first in the conference standings, and the Knights are fifth.

The Series
Central leads the all-time series at 57-26. The Dutch have claimed the last four-straight.

Wartburg
Senior Kailee O'Brien (Altoona) now leads the team with her .473 batting average and classmate Liz Roby-Miklus (Ankeny) follows at 470. Roby-Miklus has a team-best 40 stolen bases, and has now reached base in all 26 games this season, and 30 consecutive games, dating back to 2018

Freshman Sydney Illg (Grimes) has a team-best 28 RBIs. Sophomore Maddie Rog (Norridge, Ill.) leads the starting pitchers with 4.00 ERAs and has a team-best 40 strikeouts.

Career Record Watch
Roby-Miklus continues to extend her lead as the program leader in stolen bases and has 103 to date. O'Brien ranks third with 55 and is fifth in hits with 167.

Reicks is the all-time leader with 10 saves.

Single Season Record Watch
Reicks' five saves ties her own mark at first on the single season leader list. Roby-Miklus ranks second in stolen bases (40) while O'Brien is sixth (19) and Illg is seventh (18).

Central
Shaye Witte leads her team with a .479 average. Sara Tallman follows at .475, Kaitlyn Andresen at .431, and Lauren Bagby at .409. Danielle Riley leads the starting pitchers with her 2.95 ERA in 40.1 innings pitched.

The Knights rank 1st in stolen bases per game (4.77), 13th in double plays per game (.54), 15th in on-base percentage (.443), 17th in batting average (.364), 26th in scoring (7.19), 44th in slugging percentage (.49), 55th in won-lost percentage (.731), and 73rd in home runs per game (.5).
 
Individually, nine Knights rank in the top 100 of twelve statistical categories: Roby-Miklus  ranks 1st in stolen bases (1.5), 13th in runs per game (1.31), 30th in on-base percentage (.566), 48th in hits (39), and 67th in batting average (.476);  O'Brien ranks 13th in hits (44), 39th in stolen bases (.69), and 55th in batting average (.484); Gray  ranks 86th in victories (8); Reicks ranks 1st in saves (5) and 52nd in walks allowed per seven innings (.88); Rog ranks 86th in victories (8); sophomore Madison Stoaks (Clive) ranks 99th in on-base percentage (.526); Illg ranks 20th in sacrifice flies (3), 46th in stolen bases (.65), 54th in RBIs (29), and 69th in RBIs per game (1.12); freshman Madison Hiestand (Plainfield, Ill.) ranks 21st in saves (2); freshman Grace Peterson (Joliet, ILL.) ranks 56th in triples (3).
