CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The American Rivers Conference released the 2019 Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll on Wednesday, Aug. 14, with Wartburg selected to finish second in the league standings, as voted on by the A-R-C coaches. The Knights received 58 along with three first place votes.
The 2018 tournament champions from the University of Dubuque earned 62 points and six first place votes to rank first. The Spartans downed the Knights last season in the A-R-C tournament championship, 3-1.
Wartburg went 18-12 overall in 2018 and finished 7-1 during conference competition to claim the program's fifth consecutive regular season title. The Knights open the 2019 slate in Holland, Mich. Aug. 30-31 with a trio of matches at the Hope College Invitational.
