WAVERLY, Iowa - The Wartburg women's soccer team, recently ranked No. 25 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll, has back-to-back games this weekend, traveling to face the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Friday before hosting Gustavus on Saturday.

Last Time Out

The Knights had a pair of home games against Augsburg University and the College of Saint Benedict last weekend. The Orange and Black had a 6-2 victory over the Auggies. Kate Luers had the team's first hat trick since the 2017 season. Wartburg also had a 4-1 win over the Bennies with Luers scoring two more goals. The sophomore from Middletown earned the A-R-C Women's Athlete of the Week and Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. 

Matchup Notes

• The Knights had a 3-1 victory over the Blugolds last season, with Joy Smith scoring the first two goals and Hailey Osburn scoring the third.
• UW-Eau Claire lost its season opener but has won the last two games against St. Catherine (Minn.) and St. Norbert.
• Last year Wartburg had a 2-1 OT victory over Gustavus with Joy Smith scoring the winning goal during the 90th minute.
