WAVERLY, Iowa - The Wartburg women's soccer team is set to host a pair of home matches this week, taking on Augsburg University on Thursday and the College of Saint Benedict on Saturday.

The Knights opened their 2019 season with a pair of victories last weekend, defeating Macalester 3-1 in the home opener along with a 2-1 road win at Knox College. Sophomore

Marissa Lopez earned both wins in net, making four saves. Wartburg outshot Macalester and Knox by a combined total of 46-9, including a 29-1 mark against Macalester.
Matchup Notes
- Thursday's game versus Augsburg will mark the 10th all-time matchup between the Auggies and the Knights, with the series at 4-4-1. Wartburg has won the last three contests, including a 3-1 win last season in Minneapolis, Minn.
- Saturday's game versus Saint Benedict mark the 11th all-time meeting between Saint Ben's, with the series tied at 4-4-2. The Bennies prevailed 3-2 over the Knights last season in overtime in St. Joseph, Minn.
- Augsburg opened its season with two road shutouts last weekend, winning 2-0 at UW-Eau Claire and 4-0 at Minnesota-Morris.
- Ashley St. Aubin scored the game-winner versus UWEC and scored twice at UMM.Â
- Goalkeeper Emily Chapman earned both win in net, making five saves.
- Saint Ben's also opened tis season with two wins, both at home in St. Joseph, Minn. The Bennies opened their season with a 3-2 overtime win over UW-Whitewater and defeated UW-La Crosse 3-1.Â
- Megan Thompson was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week after scoring five goals in two games, including a hat trick against UWW.
