WAVERLY, Iowa - The Wartburg men's basketball team earned an 83-65 victory over the Duhawks at Levick Arena on Saturday.
Loras held the lead 40-37 going into the half. The Knights went on a 17 point run, only allowing the Duhawks to make a jumpsot in five minutes, after senior Jacob Kuhlmeier made a layup.
With 2:18 left in the half, a pair of free throws by senior
Tyler Zumbach led Wartburg to an 18 point lead. The Duhawks made a jump shot to bring the game back within 16 points, when freshman
Jack Molstead hit back to back layups to extend Wartburg's lead to 20.
Loras made a layup with a minute left, ending the game 83-65.
Zumbach led the Orange and Black with 16 points. Nine other Knights scored with 33 points coming from the bench. Wartburg was 31-of-57 in field goal shooting and 14-21 at the free throw line.
The Knights, now 6-8 overall and 2-3 in conference, host Luther on Wednesday, Jan. 15. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
