No. 7 Wartburg beats Nebraska Wesleyan, 107-46

LINCOLN, Neb. - The No. 7-ranked Wartburg women's basketball team beat A-R-C opponent Nebraska Wesleyan 107-46. This is the team's fourth time scoring in the triple digits this season.

Starting off the game with a six point lead, the Timber Wolves brought the game within one point at the 5:49 minute mark in the first. 

A layup by junior Kaitlyn Volesky gave Wartburg a 12 point ahead. Nebraska Wesleyan responded by connecting two free throws bringing the game back within 10 to end the quarter.

Wartburg held the Prairie Wolves to only scoring six points before heading into the locker rooms.

The Orange and Black started the second half of the game with a 49 point lead ending the third after junior Ally Conrad connected a three with just under a minute remaining in the quarter.

A three-pointer by junior Riley Murphy hit 100 points and led the Knights to another triple digit victory.

Junior Payton Draper led the Orange and Black with 17 points. Hazard secured 15 points and sophomore Hanna Anderson notched 12 points. Twelve other Knights scored with 55 points coming from the bench.

Wartburg was 39-of-66 in field goal shooting and 13-18 at the free throw line. The team earned a total 49 rebounds, a season high 30 assists, 13 steals and five blocks. 

The Knights, now 15-3 overall and 7-2 in conference, are back in Levick on Wednesday, Jan. 29 to face A-R-C rival Coe College. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m.
