WAVERLY, Iowa - The Wartburg men's basketball team suffered a 79-63 loss to American Rivers Conference rival Coe.Ā
The Knights started the first half of the game leading the Kohawks. With 8:55 left, junior
Ryan Stulken connected a layup to give the Knights an 11 point lead.Ā Ā
Coe brought the game within one point at the 6:21 minute mark, when senior
Camry Moore responded seconds later with a layup to continue extending the Knights lead.Ā
In the final three seconds, Coe hit a three and only trailed Wartburg 39-36 heading into the locker rooms.
Wartburg continued to take the lead in the second, until the KohawksĀ took a one point lead wth 15:33 to go.Ā
Coe took the largest lead of the game at the 6:54 minute mark with Wartburg trailing by 18. The Orange and Black were unable to comeback with the Kohawks taking a 79-63 win.
The Kohawks' were 58.8% at the free throw line making 10-of-17. Coe was 28-52 in field goal shooting and 12-26 at the arc.
Stulken and Moore each notched 14 points for the Knights. Seven other Knights scored with 12 points coming from the bench.
Wartburg went 7-of-11 at the free throw line shooting over 60% and was 25-54 in field goal shooting.Ā
The Knight had 36 total rebounds, three steals and two blocks.Ā
Next up, Wartburg hosts A-R-C rival Central insideĀ Levick Arena on Saturday, Feb. 1. Tipoff is at 4 p.m.
