Women's Tennis Concludes Fall Season at Loras

WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg women's tennis will compete in its final contest of the fall season on Tuesday, Oct. 20 when they travel to Dubuque, Iowa to take on Loras College at 3:30 p.m. Despite dropping to the Duhawks (2-1, 2-1 A-R-C) last year, the Knights have recorded wins in 14 of the last 15 matches against Loras dating back to the 2007-08 campaign.

The Knights (9-1, 6-1 A-R-C) enter the contest with a chance to secure the two seed and a first-round bye in the American Rivers Conference automatic qualifier tournament in the spring with a victory. The Orange and Black are a combined 43-14 in singles play and 21-7 in doubles this season.

Seniors Sydney Powers and Sydney Rottinghaus earned medals at last weekend's A-R-C individual tournament when they took second place in the A-Doubles competition. The duo of Alyssa Guse and Ambriel Jacobs just missed the cut as they finished in fourth place in A-Doubles and Georgia Nissen also recorded a fourth-place finish in the B-Singles bracket.

After the match, Wartburg will switch its focus on to the spring season, which will be released on a later date.
