DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Wartburg men's basketball team took an 84-81 road win over American Rivers Conference rival Loras College.
The Duhawks started off leading the game by single digits until a three-pointer by sophomore
Drew Olson put the Knights up by two with 9:22 remaining in the half.
The Knights continued to break away, taking an 11 point ahead with a minute remaining when freshman
Jack Molstead connected a jump shot. Loras responded with a layup to put the score 43-34 heading into the locker rooms.
Senior
Tyler Zumbach opened the second half with two points to continue Wartburg's lead over Loras.
The Knights took the largest lead of the game by 14 points when junior
Ryan Stulken connected a three-pointer at the 18:39 minute mark.

LorasĀ came back to bring the game within three points in the final seconds of the game after hitting a three-pointer and ended up falling to the Knights 84-81.Ā
Stulken led the Orange and Black with 17 points. Junior
Max Smith Drahos tallied 15 points and Molstead and Olson each contributed 13. Five other Knights scored with 31 points coming from the bench. Wartburg was 30-of-59 in field goal shooting, 10-22 at the arc and shot 82.4% from the free throw line making 14-of-17 shots.Ā
The team had a total 34 rebounds, four blocks and three steals.
Wartburg continues conference play on Saturday at the University of Dubuque. With a win over the Spartans and a Simpson loss to Buena Vista, the Knights will receive the No. 6 seed for the conference playoffs.Ā Tipoff for the game is at 4 p.m. inside McCormick Gymnasium.Ā
