WAVERLY, Iowa - The Wartburg women's lacrosse team fell 17-3 against the defending Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Champions from Hamline University on Wednesday afternoon during its home opener at the Wartburg Lacrosse Field.
The Knights drop to 0-2 overall while the Pipers improve to 3-0.
Hamline outscored Wartburg 11-1 in the first period, with the Knights opening their scoring with one of
Lindsay Langford's two goals on the game.
The Orange & Black limited the Pipers to six goals in the final 20 minutes while scoring twice; Langford's second with just under 21 minutes remaining and
Bri Greiskalns' team-leading fourth goal of the season.
In goal,
Laura Sinkovitz tallied five saves while facing 32 Piper shots.
