No. 16 Women's Soccer Set for A-R-C Match in Pella

WAVERLY, Iowa – No. 16 women's soccer travels to Pella, Iowa to face Central College in an American Rivers Conference matchup with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m.

In the Polls
The Knights are No. 16 in the latest United Soccer Coaches national poll and continue to hold onto the No. 2 ranking in region IX. Wartburg is joined in the top-25 by Loras College, who is No. 11 in the national poll and No. 1 in region IX.
 
The Orange & Black are also nationally recognized by d3soccer.com's national rankings. Wartburg moved up from No. 25 to No. 24.
 
Last Time Out
Wartburg extended its current win streak to five games after defeating Buena Vista University with a balanced offensive attack to win 11-0 at Salzwedel Field on Tuesday, Oct. 12. The match saw eight different Knights score and three had multiple goals. Goal scorers were: Joy Smith (2), Kate Luers (2), Kate Dobbs (2), Emily Fontana, Sarah Campbell, Rachael Christmann and Annie Place.
 
The Orange & Black outshot the Beavers 51-2 in total shots and a 31-2 advantage in shots on goal. On the season, Wartburg is averaging 21 shots per game, while only allowing seven shots against.
 
Smith leads the Knights offensively, with ten goals and two assists for a total of 22 points. Luers also has six goals and three assists for a total of 15 points to help pace Wartburg's offense. The Orange & Black have 12 different players with a goal this season.
 
Marissa Lopez has started all 13 games in goal and recorded 47 saves with a save percentage of 90.4%.
 
Central College
The Dutch are 3-2 in their last five matches and won its latest contest 1-0 on the road at Nebraska Wesleyan. Central also lost a close match with No. 11 Loras College 1-0 at home. The Dutch enter the contest 8-4-1 overall and 2-2 in A-R-C play.
 
The Knights lead the all-time series between the schools 18-9-3 and have won two straight against Central.
