Sioux City, Iowa – Wartburg women's tennis wrapped up play with a strong showing at the American Rivers Conference Individual Tournament behind
Sydney Stout earning silver in her singles flight.
The Knights finished competition on Saturday, Oct. 16 and had strong showings in all flights of play.
Singles
Meadow LaDuke defeated opponents, Lexi Hastings and Kylie Dunning, from Luther College in rounds one and two of Singles Flight A. LaDuke went on to defeat Brooke Sailer from Nebraska Wesleyan University in the quarterfinals. Shelby Cook of Luther would defeat LaDuke in the semifinals and LaDuke would fall again in the third-place match to finish fourth overall.
In the B flight of singles, the Knights had two quarterfinalists in
Georgia Nissen and
Chihiro Ono.
Ono defeated Brianna Lindstrom of Central College in the first round and then Ella Ford of Nebraska Wesleyan in the second round to advance to the quarterfinals. She would fall to Sara Backus of Loras College in the quarterfinals.
Nissen defeated both Janie Lapray of Coe College and Donni Kinghorn of Simpson College to advance to the quarters. Jalen DenHartog from Luther would edge Nissen in the quarterfinals.
Sydney Stout would make a run to the championship in Flight C of singles play. In the first round Stout defeated Ava Johnson of NWU and followed it with a win over Kalina Schubert of Central. In the round of 16, Stout defeated Jessica Lambo 8-4 to advance to the quarterfinals. Stout defeated Lexi Bruns of Buena Vista University in the quarters and then Jennifer Larson of Central to advance to the championship match. Stout fell to Macy Scharff 6-4 and 6-1 to finish with a silver medal.
Doubles
The team of
Natalie Kaiser and LaDuke competed in the Doubles A Flight. After a first round bye, the duo was edged by the team of Hastings and Martinez for a loss in the quarterfinals round.
In the B Flight of Doubles play, the Orange & Black had a best finish from the team of
Bailey Sinnwell and
Gracie O'Donnell who made it to the quarterfinals. The duo defeated teams from Central and Loras after their first-round bye to advance to the quarterfinals.

The Knights finish the fall season with a record of 7-9 overall and 4-4 in A-R-C play.
