The Knights are No. 16 in the nation according to the latest poll from the United Soccer Coaches and Loras College comes in at No. 9. The Duhawks and Knights are No. 1 and No. 2 in the region IX rankings respectively, as well as in the A-R-C standings
The Orange & Black are ranked No. 22 in the latest d3soccer.com national rankings and Loras is at No. 13.
Last Time Out
The Knights last match was a 2-0 victory on Saturday, Oct. 16 in Pella, Iowa against Central College. Wartburg got an early goal from
Sarah Campbell in the ninth minute to give the Knights a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
Kate Luers added her seventh goal for the Knights this season in the 85
th minute to push the lead to 2-0.
Marissa Lopez played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded three saves.
The Knights have won six matches in a row and are outscoring opponents 25-2 in those matches.
Joy Smith is leading the Knights offense with 10 goals and two assists for a total of 22 points through 14 games. Luers also has added seven goals and three assists for a total of 17 points. The Orange & Black have 12 athletes with at least one goal.
Defensively, the Orange & Black have allowed only 25 total shots and 12 shots on goal throughout the winning streak.
Marissa Lopez has started all 14 matches in goal for the Knights and has recorded 50 saves with a save percentage of 90.9%.
Loras
The Duhawks are 13-0-1 overall and 5-0 in the A-R-C entering the nationally ranked matchup Wednesday. The last contest was a 4-1 win for Loras over Luther College.
Loras has a balanced offensive attack with three players totaling 15 points this season. Abbey Eriksen has eight goals and two assists for 18 total points. Brynn Jacobi has scored six goals and added three assists for a total of 15 points. Payton McDonnell has two goals with 11 assists for 15 points this season.
In goal for the Duhawks, Megan Wick has started the last three matches and allowed only one goal and totaled 12 saves.
The all-time series between the schools is led by Loras 23-8-9, but Wartburg has won the last two contests.
