No. 13 Central Hands Wartburg First Conference Loss

PELLA, Iowa—The #13 Central College Dutch (5-0, 3-0, A-R-C) handed the Wartburg College Knights (2-2, 1-1, A-R-C) their first conference loss as the Dutch defeated the Knights 49-24 in Pella.
 
Scoring Plays
 
  • Kain Eagle broke the stalemate, scoring on a 27-yard field goal attempt at the 8:46 mark in the first quarter.
  • Central's Blaine Hawkins threw a touchdown pass with 7:39 remaining in the first quarter before adding a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter.
  • Patrick Mulholland stepped in the quarterback position for the Knights, connecting with Thomas Butters for an 11-yard touchdown pass.
  • Central's Hawkins threw his fourth touchdown pass of the day with 8:01 remaining in the third quarter.
  • Jace Moore connected with Braydin Farrell for a 3-yard touchdown pass as the Knights scored their second touchdown of the day.
  • Hawkins threw an additional two touchdowns as the Dutch recorded only one rushing touchdown on the day.
  • Moore threw a 13-yard pass to Dalton Woodyard for the final score of the game with 4:56 remaining in the game.

  • The Knights rushed for 128 yards while throwing the ball for 245 yards. The Knights totaled 373 yards of total offense.
  • All three of the Knights touchdowns came from pass completions.

  • The Knights were perfect in extra point attempts, making all three.
  • Defensively, the Knights had 84 tackles, one sack, three pass breakups, and two quarterback hurries.
 
Key Players
 
  • Antonio Santillan led the Knights with 12 touchdowns, with Trey Heffner adding 11 to his record. Eli Barrett and Nate Link were credited with 10 each for the Knights.
  • Freddie Hosch recorded the lone sack for the Knights, sacking the Central quarterback for seven yards.
  • Barrett had two pass breakups, while Heffner was credited with the third breakup for the Knights.
  • Moore was 25-of-37 in passing attempts, with two touchdowns.
  • Hunter Clasen led the Knights in rushing yards (59), while Drake George led the Knights in receiving yards (81).
  • Clasen and JoJo McNair recorded two kickoff returns for a total of 85 yards.
