INDIANOLA, Iowa - #19 women's soccer scored three unanswered goals to earn a 3-1 victory over Simpson College on Saturday, Oct. 9 to move to 10-1-1 overall and 3-0 in American Rivers Conference play.

Wartburg started with a 1-0 deficit after a Simpson goal in the 19
th minute from Cassie Nash. The Knights would answer in the 45
th minute after
Hayley Howe scored her first goal of the season to make it 1-1 going into the half. The goal came off an assist from
Emily Fontana.

The Orange & Black dominated the second half and got it started with a goal in the 56
th minute from
Kate Luers, her fifth of the season, off an assist from Fontana. The assist was Fontana's second of the match and third of the season. The Knights would add one more goal to make it 3-1 after a goal from
Gabby Corday in the 61
st minute. This goal came off a great pass from
Lauren Kirkle, who recorded her third assist of the season.
The Knights outshot the Storm 21-14 and had a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks in the match. In goal for the Knights,
Marissa Lopez played all 90 minutes and recorded four saves in the win.

The Knights continue their season on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at home against Buena Vista University in an A-R-C matchup.
