Football Looks to Defend Walston-Hoover in Final Home Game

WAVERLY, Iowa— Looking to protect Walston-Hoover Stadium on Senior Day and remain undefeated at home, the Wartburg Knights football squad is slated to host the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves on Nov. 6.
 
Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.

Series History
  • Saturday's meeting will be the fifth meeting between the squads, with the Knights winning all four previous meetings.

  • Jordan Downing was named to the D3Football team of the week, for the week of Oct. 25. Downing recorded four and a half tackles-for-loss, four and a half sacks, and one forced fumble in the Knights win over Dubuque.
 
Nebraska Wesleyan Game Notes
  • The Prairie Wolves have the No. 2 passing offense in the A-R-C, averaging 260.8 yards in the air per game.
  • The Prairie Wolves lead the A-R-C in field goals, making 6-of-6 this season. The Prairie Wolves have the second longest punting average, with 34.2 yards per game. The Prairie Wolves are No. 3 in the A-R-C in 3rd Down Conversions.
  • Prairie Wolves head coach Brian Keller earned his 100th career win against a conference opponent as the Prairie Wolves defeated Simpson College on Oct. 30.
  • Josh Romain is No. 9 in the A-R-C for rushing yards, averaging 59.5 per game. Romain had a season-high 122 rushing yards against Luther.
  • Carter Terry was held to a season-low 37 passing yards against Buena Vista and averages 133.6 yards per game.
  • Max Brinker (7.5), Kaden Dawe (7.1), and Zach Busmente (7) lead the Prairie Wolves in tackles per game. Karrell Simpson has recorded four interceptions this season and is tied for second in the A-R-C.
